01/02/2010 - “See behind the Cloud” with LDM Global & LexisNexis at our LegalTech NY Lunch


Our exclusive event will feature a panel of experts who will explore what is behind cloud computing, and answer questions about how technology can be implemented in a legal environment without adding all the infrastructure and cost. 

Our panel of industry experts will discuss the current hot topic of Cloud Computing, with specific reference to the Legal industry, and there will be the opportunity to ask questions and interact on this topic with the panel members.

Panel members:

Tom O'Connor, Legal Consulant and member of the Board of Governers of the OLP

Tom is a nationally known consultant, speaker and writer in the area of computerized litigation support systems.  Tom's involvement with large cases led him to become familiar with dozens of various software applications for litigation support and he has both designed databases and trained legal staffs. This work has involved both public and private law firms of all sizes and include issues involving electronic discovery.

Ellen J. Polhamus, Director of Practice Technology, Morgan Lewis & Bockius

Ms. Polhamus leads the firm wide business unit in the delivery of technology-based services for all practice areas. Services are focused on electronic data and document management in connection with discovery. Ms. Polhamus establishes business objectives and oversees compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality control (QC), and approved practices. She also manages the personnel, financial, and marketing aspects of the business unit. Ms. Polhamus works closely with the firm's Information Technology department to secure data storage and infrastructure requirements.

Laura Bandrowsky, Practice Support Director, Duane Morris

Laura manages the firm's Practice Support Group, which provides in-house technical consulting services to attorneys at the firm’s offices throughout the world. She frequently speaks on topics related to the technological aspects of the legal profession.  Ms. Bandrowsky is a member of The Sedona Conference Working Group on Electronic Document Retention and Production, which provide information and instruction about all aspects of eDiscovery. The working group played a significant role in the preparation, comment and adoption of the revised Federal Rules of Civil Procedure implemented December 1, 2006.
